UPDATE:

Orillia OPP are continuing to investigate the death of a pedestrian in Oro-Medonte.

Police say a pedestrian was killed after being struck by a train near Ingram Road and the Sixth Line North. The incident occurred shortly after 5 p.m. Oct. 27.

Orillia OPP Const. Lori Barker said she could not provide the name of the deceased nor the gender or age "because the investigation is still ongoing."

However, Barker said there was "no suspected foul play" and called it a "non-suspicious sudden death."

A pedestrian has been killed by a train in Oro-Medonte.

Orillia OPP say Ingram Road is closed for a "sudden death investigation involving a pedestrian and a train."

The OPP said the incident occurred in the Ingram Road and Sixth Line North area near Mount St. Louis.

Police are asking people to avoid the area.

No other details are being released at this time, say police.
