The South Simcoe Police Service is investigating an assault that occurred during Euro Cup celebrations in Bradford.

On Sunday, July 11, 2021, police were monitoring the downtown core of Bradford for the Euro Cup celebrations when hundreds of people took to the streets, prompting several road closures in the area.

Officers were flagged down and informed of a fight that was occurring in front of a restaurant on Holland Street West at Drury Street. Police responded but the suspects had left the scene. Officers learned that two employees were assaulted after a group of men tried to enter the restaurant without masks and bringing their own cooler.

The employees who were assaulted had declined medical treatment. Due to the large street celebration and several urgent calls, officers left the scene and returned later to continue the investigation, which is still ongoing.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact South Simcoe Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
