Bradford man accused of defrauding 77-year-old victim

The 41-year-old faces 26 charges as a result of investigation after police were called about a theft

BRADFORD - South Simcoe Police Service officers have laid 26 charges after a senior was defrauded in Bradford.

On Monday, Aug. 4, 2020, South Simcoe Police Service officers were called to a report of a theft. Once on scene, the 77-year-old victim advised that a suspect known to him withdrew money from his bank account after stealing his chequebook and writing numerous cheques.  

Forty-one-year-old Christopher Blais of Bradford was charged with theft, possession of property obtained by crime, 12 counts of utter forged document, and 12 counts of fraud under $5,000. He was released with a future court date.
