Barrie woman, 70, killed in New Brunswick crash

Fatal crash happened late Sunday night in the town of Salisbury, about 20 minutes outside Moncton

An investigation is underway after a 70-year-old Barrie woman was killed in New Brunswick, Sunday night.

At approximately 11:45 p.m., on Jan. 30, members of the Caledonia Region RCMP, Ambulance New Brunswick and Salisbury Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle crash on the Trans-Canada Highway.

The crash happened in the town of Salisbury, about 20 minutes outside Moncton.

Police say the Barrie woman was transported to hospital where she later died from her injuries. 

A 61-year-old man and 24-year-old woman, who were also in the vehicle, were transported to hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, according to RCMP.

A member of the New Brunswick RCMP media relations office told BarrieToday the cause is under investigation and that an autopsy would be scheduled to determine the woman’s cause of death.

The name of the deceased is not being released by the RCMP.
