On Jan. 5, 2020, at approximately 6:25 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services and the Town of Erin Fire Services responded to a serious two-motor vehicle collision on Trafalgar Road near Side Road 17 in the Town of Erin.
Investigation revealed that a southbound sport utility vehicle (SUV) collided head-on with a northbound sedan.
The driver of the sedan, Jayson Alexander Waddell, 36-years-old of Caledon was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the SUV, an 18-year-old from Barrie, was transported to a Georgetown hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.
The Wellington County OPP along with OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) continue to investigate the collision.
