A new surveillance image has Barrie police hoping someone will recognize a man wanted in a sexual assault from two weeks ago at a local hotel.
On April 9, police say the man entered the Fairfield Inn & Suites on Essa Road and assaulted a female. The suspect was believed to be in possession of a firearm.
Barrie police communications co-ordinator Peter Leon told BarrieToday the assault was sexual in nature and he hopes someone recognizes the suspect from the new photo.
“The images are from inside the hotel and the assault did take place in a room,” he said Friday. “We hope someone will see the photos and the suspects eyebrows, or other distinct features and call police.
"We even hope the suspect himself will see the pictures and turn himself in," Leon added.
