Barrie man faces impaired charges in Bradford motorcycle crash

On Aug. 5, 2021 at approximately 6 p.m., South Simcoe police officers responded to a collision in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury at the intersection of the 11th Line and the 5th Sideroad. 

Upon arrival, officers learned that a Mississauga man in his 60s had been operating his motorcycle when he was struck by a 23-year-old male from Barrie. 

As a result of the collision, the motorcycle operator sustained serious injuries and was treated and transferred to hospital by Simcoe County EMS. 

Officers conducted an at-scene investigation and the 23-year-old male driver was arrested and transported for further investigation.

At this time, 23-year-old Duncan Peters of Barrie has been charged with:

— Impaired operation
— Impaired excess alcohol 80 mgs and over
— Two counts of breach of probation under the Provincial Offences Act.

The investigation continues.
