On Dec. 14, 2021, the Barrie Police Internet Child Exploitation Unit arrested a 28-year-old Barrie male after a five-month investigation.

The male is now facing charges of luring a child, sending sexually explicit material to a child, and making child pornography.

The accused used social media (SnapChat) to communicate with several teenage victims and exploit them by offering money in exchange for explicit pictures. The male was held for bail and later released to his surety with several conditions and a future court date.
