Barrie man charged in Sturgeon Falls gas theft

Accused also facing charges of driving while prohibited, suspended

A Barrie resident is facing charges after allegedly stealing gas from a Sturgeon Falls station in northern Ontario.

The 29-year-old was stopped by members of the Nipissing West OPP and the Anishinabek Police Service on Wednesday at 12:30 a.m. He is accused of stealing gas a day earlier.

The man has been charged with theft under $5,000, operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code, and driving while under suspension. He has a May 4 court date in North Bay.
