Charges laid following stabbing of Barrie man in Bradford

South Simcoe Police Service officers have charged a 22-year-old man in connection with a stabbing in downtown Bradford.

On Friday, March 6, 2020 around 1 a.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were called to the Four Corners at Holland Street and Simcoe Road for a report of a man that was stabbed. When police arrived, they learned that an argument between two men on the street escalated to a physical altercation and ended with a stabbing. The suspect fled on foot.

The victim, a 30-year-old Barrie man, was taken to hospital where he was treated for a minor injury and released. A knife was recovered at the scene.

As a result of the investigation, a suspect was identified and turned himself in at South Division on Monday, March 9, 2020.  

Daniel Sampson-Hall, 22, of Bradford is charged with the following:

  • Assault
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Aggravated assault
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Carry concealed weapon
  • Fail to comply with conditions
  • Possession of a weapon contrary to prohibition order (4 counts)

He was held for a bail hearing.
