Barrie police arrested two Brampton men in a high-risk takedown after a theft at a local hardware store near Essa Road.
The arrests happened at 12:35 p.m., Tuesday, after information was provided to police of a theft that had taken place shortly before.
Barrie police communications co-ordinator Peter Leon said that tactical, canine and uniformed officers were involved in Tuesday afternoon's arrest.
“We have two men that were arrested after a theft from a big box hardware store yesterday afternoon. They were approached as they left the store and someone saw the vehicle they were getting into and called police,” said Leon.
The takedown happened without incident at the intersection of Essa Road and Bryne Drive.
The suspects, aged 21 and 26, were held for a bail hearing.
