(March 24, 1936 - May 6, 2018) - In her 83rd year, Yvonne passed away peacefully with family present at Hospice Simcoe on May 6, 2018 after a battle with cancer that she faced with courage and dignity. Yvonne was the beloved wife of the late Archie Young. She was also predeceased by her oldest brother Charles Fraser and stepson, Robin Young. She is survived by her much-loved son, Ronald Young of Barrie and granddaughters Keltie Young and Bridget Young of Winnipeg. She is also survived by sister Margaret Agnelli of Toronto, brother John Fraser of Chatham, and daughter-in-law Judy McConnel of Winnipeg. Born in Baxter, Ontario in 1936 Yvonne worked for many years as an administrator in several Ontario hospitals. In the years before her retirement, she taught at Georgian College. Family and friends are invited to attend a non-religious celebration of Yvonne’s life on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at ADAMS FUNERAL HOME (445 St. Vincent Street, Barrie) from 11am to 1pm. At Yvonne’s request there will be no funeral as she has been cremated. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Thornton Union Cemetery.
