After a courageous two and a half year battle with appendix cancer, Timothy R. Wynia passed away peacefully at home on March 25, 2020 surrounded by his family.
Tim loved spending time with his family and sharing so many experiences with the love of his life Shelley during their travels abroad, experiencing different cultures and foods, listening to live music, camping and just enjoying life together.
Tim spent a lot of time with his family at their cottage in Woodland Beach in his younger years and loved swimming, catching tadpoles, turtles and playing games.
Tim will be dearly missed by his wife of 33 years and soulmate Shelley, his loving daughters Amanda and Meagan, their wonderful husbands Michael and Bryan, who were like sons to him, and 5 beautiful grandchildren Eli, Carson, Emmett, Maverick & Georgia who brought so much joy to his life. He loved his mother Bettina dearly along with his loving sisters Liz, Joanne (Joe) and brothers Hans and Frank (Lynn) as well as his brother and sister in-laws Debbie(Bob), Jeff(Penny), Randy(Don), Michelle(Jay), Larry and Darcy(Katherine). He is fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews Tamara, Martin(Kim), Tasha(Jay), Devon, Dylan, Aaron, Andrea, Mitchell(Matt), Vanessa, Jessica, Jordan, Lilli, Neil, Owen, his best friends Bill and Sandra, as well as all of his great nieces, nephews, his extended family and friends. Tim is predeceased by his loving father Fetze, his beautiful baby son Colton, his dear brother-in-law Otto and his nephew, Roger.
Tim spent the last 29 years of his career at Mitsubishi Electric where he worked his way up from Information Specialist to Director of Information Services. Mitsubishi thought so highly of Tim that they kept him on as director throughout his diagnosis, never replacing him… a true tribute to his character and their fondness of him. Tim enjoyed travelling, meeting and befriending so many people of many different backgrounds throughout his career. Tim and Shelley were very thankful for all the support they received from the company after he was diagnosed with cancer.
We want to thank everyone who cared for Tim during his battle with cancer over the past few years including his oncologist, Dr. Rask, all of the amazing nurses in the RVH chemo ward, Dr. Springle and their wonderful support staff, his caring nurses Linda and Deb from St. Elizabeth, Dr. Kizoff and Dr. Fejes.
Family and friends will be invited to attend a celebration of Tim’s life at a future date due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
