Passed away peacefully at 92 years young while surrounded by her family on February 3rd, 2019 at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Buck (1970) and of the late Jack Welsman (1987). Loving mother of Sharon Hannigan (Brian), Graeme Gaudet (Brian), Isobel Spragg (Bob) and Philip Buck (Concie). Cherished grandmother to Francie, Courtenaye (Ian), Julia (Don), Nicky, Gord (Shannon), Sharon (Josh), Jack (Emily), and great grandmother to Braydon, Xander, Isobella, Hudson, Harlee, Rosalyn and baby Hannigan-Acheson. Dear sister to Ruth MacAdam and the late Marjorie Geiger (Chuck). Predeceased by her parents Theodore and Marjorie Welsman. She will be deeply missed by her entire extended family, many long-time friends and, especially, by her dear friend Fran.

Isobel was born in Toronto and raised in Montreal. She achieved her BSc from McGill and her B Ed from Queen’s. She was a teacher with Frontenac County School Board. In retirement she enjoyed a good game of bridge, tennis, knitting, crocheting and travelling the world with her best friend of 90 years, Frances Bailie. She loved her summers on Burgess Island in Muskoka, was always up for a good party and cocktails with the family. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at RVRHC, and especially Syl on the Respiratory Inpatient Unit, for all of their wonderful care of Isobel.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date, with a private memorial to follow at the family cottage in Muskoka. Donations in Isobel’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, RVH Child & Youth Mental Health Foundation or the Glassco Foundation.
