Helen Wellnhofer passed away peacefully on November 3, 2022 at Woods Park Care Centre, Barrie at the age of 81.
Beloved wife of Guenther Wellnhofer for over 57 years. Loving mother of Anne Wellnhofer (George Moffat) and Peter Wellnhofer (Sharon Fields). Cherished grandmother of Griffin Mars, Beckett Mars and Annika Mars. Helen will also be missed by her extended family and friends. In her years of teaching she was passionate about sport for life and was ahead of her time as an outdoor and experiential educator. Being outside brought her great joy and she will be thought of with every walk in the forest, glide of a ski, and dip of a paddle.
In her words, she “had a beautiful life”. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Heights of Horseshoe on Saturday, November 26 from 2:00-4:00.
