March 7, 2022 - “Ierat Cito”

Steven Michael Wehling was born Monday August 15, 1966 in the small northeastern village of Marville, France.  They say Monday’s child is fair of face, and to proud parents Susan and Michael Wehling, Steven was the fairest of babies born on that day.
Steven will leave an indelible mark on the hearts of the many people who loved him dearly, his fiancé Carla Steele, his parents Michael and Susan Wehling, his sister Corinne Whitney (Stephen Whitney), his niece Olivia Whitney and nephews Kristofer Whitney and Eric Whitney. Missing him equally are Judy and Wally Desroches (cousins Suzette, Monique, Nicole), Robert and Diane Koessel (cousins Max, Lonnie, Kevin).  Steven’s family extended to the east, Art Forward (cousins Michael, Kevin, Stephen, Leanne, Sharon, Karen, Mark, Paul) and to the west, Norma Brooks Pawlak (cousins Nicole, Cory, Lindsey), Marion and Peter Barisenkoff (cousin Tannia) and Joan Harcourt, deceased (cousins Annelise, Michael, Liane) - they all share in the loss of Steven.

Steven’s legacy will be that he lived life to the fullest, always with laughter and always marching to the beat that was right for him.  He spent countless hours enjoying the outdoors riding a myriad of snowmobiles, boats, ATVs (he really was the cool uncle).  The last few years saw him devoting time to his true labour of love, his home in Parry Sound, perched on a hill with a million-dollar view.  How he loved that deck!  Always ready with a beer for anyone who dropped by.

Abraham Lincoln said, “And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count.  It’s the life in your years.”  Steven, you took every minute of every day.  No matter how hard the fight became in these last years, you remained forever positive and full of life.  You were a force to be reckoned with and grabbed life by the horns.  Rest easy now and know that you are always in our hearts.  We love you and miss you dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 30, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Barrie Curling Club, 175 Essa Rd, Barrie, ON.  Donations to the Cancer Society in memory of Steven are greatly appreciated.
