The family of Susanna Claire Weeks, of Barrie, is saddened to announce her passing on February 13, 2024, at the age of 53 years.
She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband of 27 years, Michael; sons Matthew and Aidan; her parents Michael and Claire Wilson; her brother William (Dawn) Wilson and family; as well as her uncle David (Claire) Hamilton and family. Susanna loved her family passionately and she will be missed terribly.
Raised in Etobicoke, Ontario, Susanna was active in both gymnastics and singing. As a member of the Toronto Children’s Chorus, one of her fondest memories was singing at Expo 86, in Vancouver. She attended high school at Silverthorn Collegiate, where she was outgoing and actively participated in school life. After graduating, with a business degree from York University, Susanna began her career in advertising at Ogilvy & Mather. She excelled at her job, handling the media buying for multiple corporations. In 1996, she married Michael and in the early 2000’s left advertising to raise a family. In 2006, the family moved to Barrie, where she worked in the Simcoe County Health Unit and for 10 years at the law firm of Oatley Vigmond, retiring in 2023.
Visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home (445 St. Vincent Street, Barrie) on Wednesday, February 21 from 5:00-9:00pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 22 starting at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Susanna Weeks' name to the charity of your choice.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Surgery 2 and the ICU of RVH, for their effort and care of Susanna.
