Having received her wings on March 28, Anne Marie crossed the rainbow bridge to be greeted by her beloved pets and family who have gone before her.

Anne Marie is predeceased by her father Wilhelm, mother Lena (Helena, nee Tijssen), sister Kitty and brother Emeric.

She leaves behind her partner June Drake, her sister Wilma Patteson and her brother Willy Van der Burg; her nieces Christine (Cam), Corrine, Kathie (Jim), Lee Anne (Shawn) and Tiffany; her nephews Steve (Kelly) and Kyle; her great nieces and nephews; dear friends and members of her extended family, including the Van der Burg/Tijssen clans and her in-laws, the Drake/Marr clans.

Anne Marie was very athletic. A fast runner, she won many first-place ribbons for track and field. She also won swimming races and her Ladies Fastball League team were the 1960 and 1961 Champions.

She worked at Imperial Tobacco in Guelph shortly after the factory was built, where she made many friends. She went back to school, completing her BA at the University of Waterloo. Her favourite job was being a courier driver ... it suited her restless disposition and independence. Anne Marie travelled to England and Europe (including Spain, France, Belgium, Switzerland, the Netherlands), worked on a kibbutz in Israel and drove to California, USA (sleeping in her car!).

While Anne Marie was an adventurous soul, she kept her own council. She was a force to be reckoned with.

This is just a small window into the person and life of Anne Marie.

Pray that her journey is surrounded by love and light.

If so inclined, please make your expressions of sympathy to an animal shelter of your choice.
