Alistair William Thomson passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 22, 2021 in Barrie, Ontario at age 81. Born on May 15th, 1940 to George and Elizabeth Thomson in Aberdeen, Scotland. Alistair was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He loved people and his warm personality and cheerful sense of humour touched the lives of everyone he met. He was always encouraging and supportive of others even in the most challenging times. He never gave up, and inspired his friends and loved ones with his ability to meet any problem head on and his willingness to help them do the same. He is predeceased by his eldest son Michael Thomson and his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Lou Thomson. He is survived by his sons Bradley, Raymond, James, Cameron, and Devyn Thomson, his sister Eileen, and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He will be missed dearly by all of them and he continues to live on in the positive and sincere influence he had on us all. The family asks that to honour Alistair, you hug someone you love.
