THOMPSON, John

Passed peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Hospice Simcoe on Friday, September 1st, 2017 at the age of 77. Loving husband of Doreen for 57 years. Honoured father of Darlene Steers (Stewart), Janet Bartolomucci, and Mike Thompson (Vicki). Will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Angela (Ryan), Trevor, John and Jacob, his step-grandchildren Stephen (Kerri) and Crystal, and his great grandson Lincoln. Visitation will be held at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minet’s Point Rd., Barrie on Thursday, September 7th, 2017 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, as well as on Friday, September 8th from 10 am until the time we celebrate John’s life in the Chapel at 11 am. Following the service, guests are invited to remain for a reception luncheon in the Lounge. The family would like to take this opportunity to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the care provided by the staff and volunteers of Hospice Simcoe, and request that, in lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory be directed there.
