STURGEON, Vernon McCalla

(Proudly served for 39 years as the best TTC/Gray Coach driver ever) - Passed away suddenly at his home in Barrie on Tuesday, February 14th, 2017. Vernon Sturgeon in his 90th year was the beloved husband of Sophia for 65 years. Loving father of James and his wife Judy of Toronto, Suzanne Cunningham and her husband Tom of Barrie, Charles and his wife Svetlana of Mississauga and daughter-in-law Nikki Sturgeon of Barrie. Dear grandfather of Jeremy (Casey), Philip, Jennifer (Robert), Joseph, Emily (Marc), Samantha, Alexander and great-grandfather of 7. Survived by his sisters Arlene Edney, Joan Field and brothers Carl and Ron. Predeceased by brothers John and Earl. Vern will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Cremation has taken place. Friends may call at the JENNETT FUNERAL & CREMATION CENTRE, 152 Bradford Street in Barrie on Sunday, February 26th, 2017 from 1 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 2 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Sick Kids Foundation.
