With sadness we share the passing of our beloved Syd. He leaves behind his loving wife, Karin and daughter Taya. Loved and missed by his Mother, Kathleen, siblings, Heather, Carol, Steven and Marie. Nephews and nieces, Matthew, Kayla, Ethan, Charlotte, Annabelle and Emma. Brother in-laws, Pete, George and Geoff. Predeceased by his Father, Donald and Father in-law George. Syd was a loving and devoted father, husband, son, brother and friend and will be missed by many in both Ontario and BC.
Syd was born at Two Fighter Wing in France as his Father was with the 423 Squadron. Syd grew up in Barrie but moved to BC where he made a happy home with Karin and Taya.
Syd was multi-talented and worked as an electrician, plumber, welder and could fix anything.
Syd loved to fish, hunt, travel, BBQ, garden, do sudoku and gave selflessly of his time volunteering with Salvation Army and donating blood 186 times.
Syd is in good hands in Heaven and until we meet again we have many happy memories.
There will be a celebration of Syd's life at the Sheba Shrine Hall (142 John St., Barrie, ON)on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 12-3 pm on what would have been his 64th birthday.
