Born to Romano Mendoza and Juana Resureccion on July 3, 1941, Eleonore grew up in Taytay, Rizal, Philippines. She met the love of her life, Arturo Senase in Antipolo, Rizal, with whom she had nine children. Widowed at a young age, Eleonore took care of her family by caring for others; she was a jack of all trades eventually becoming a skilled dressmaker. Arriving in Canada on August 3, 1994, Eleonore quickly became an integral part of her new Filipino community.
Eleonore was a very loving, giving, and caring person. She loved to travel, cook, and go to the casino. She was a caregiver to most of the children within her Filipino community; Eleonore lived life to the fullest.
Eleonore was adored by her children, Ricky (Neneth), Leni (Tom Cook), Marites (Raul), Abel and Karen (Oliver Mayugba); a precious nanay (Lola) to Karen, Joanna, Jay Russell, Jazmine, Jessika, Jaiden, Joel, John Thomas, James Peter, Sarah Joy, Archie, Ashley, Nicah, Kimberly, John, Abel and Christian; and missed dearly by her 13 great-grandchildren and her siblings, Elena Santos, Rose Ignacio, and Ernesto Santos. Eleonore was a cherished aunt and will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Eleonore is predeceased by her husband, Arturo; her children, Perry, Edgar, Gina and Katherine; and grandson, Andrew.
A visitation for Eleonore will be held at 11am on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Adams Funeral Home (445 St. Vincent Street, Barrie) until the time of the Funeral Service at 2pm. Following the service a reception will be held at the Peggy Hill Community Centre (171 Mapleton Avenue, Barrie). Memorial donations may be made in memory of Eleonore to the Kidney Foundation.
