Russell, Florence Evelyn (nee Grace) , beloved wife of the late Hubert Wilmot Russell (Bert), passed away peacefully with her son by her side at the IOOF Seniors Home. She will be greatly missed by her loving children; Linda (Rob) Clark and John (Helen). As well as her 8 grandchildren, Hope (Cameron) Pottage, Heather Earle, Julie (Corey) Anderson, J. Wesley (Robyn), Carrie Phillips, Cheryl (Robert) DeHaan, MaryEllen (Shannon) Loughran, and J. Robert Clark, and her 21 great grandchildren, who affectionately called her “G.G.” Florence lived in Midland and wintered in Florida with Bert, and more recently moved to the IOOF Seniors Home in Barrie to be closer to her son and share many life events and visits with family. Her younger years were spent raising Linda and John and working as a seamstress at Fabulous Formals where she would sew up to 14 bridesmaid or 12 wedding dresses in a day.  Florence enjoyed all things design and fashion and especially loved the colour pink.   Her granddaughters fondly remember graduation and prom dresses made especially for them by Grandma. All grandchildren remember Sunday dinners ending with delicious deserts baked by Grandma; and special woodworked crafts made by Grandpa and painted by Grandma.  Florence was an amazing seamstress, craftswoman and baker who was so incredibly talented, creative, and generous.

A special thank you to all the staff of the IOOF Seniors Home for their care and dedication to Florence and the residents of the home. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Adam’s Funeral Home in Barrie and a private interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Midland where Florence and Bert will rest together once again. In memory of Florence, donations may be made to: IOOF Seniors Home, 10 Brooks St. Barrie, ON L4N 5L3
