REBURN, Lois Marie (nee Smellie)

(April 17, 1930 – February 14, 2017) - at Victoria Village, Barrie ON, after a brave struggle with Alzheimer’s – beloved wife of John (predeceased). Loving mother of Richard (Lea Ellen) and Robert. Lois was raised in Shelburne, ON, daughter of Harold and Grace Smellie. She is survived by her siblings Marion Wake (Douglas), Jane MacIsaac and Edward Smellie (Teresa) and sister-in-law, Marjorie Reburn (George predeceased). Also predeceased by sister-in-law and brother-in-law Evelyn and Wilson Pacey. Lois will be dearly remembered by her nieces Nancy Schultheiss (Helmut), Denise Laker (Terry), Lynn MacIsaac and nephew Marc Smellie. Predeceased by nephew, Ian MacIsaac. The family would like to offer their deepest gratitude to Dr. Michael McConvey and the staff at Victoria Village for their compassion and care. Lois will always be remembered by hockey fans for her tireless work for the Barrie Colts taking tickets at the front gate for 25 years. Visitation will be held at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley Street, Barrie on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 7-9 pm and on Sunday from 1 pm until the time we celebrate Lois’ life in the Chapel at 2 pm.
