It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Eileen Read (nee Latendresse). After a heroic battle with liver disease, Betty passed peacefully with family by her side at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre on April 9, 2021.
Betty had a zest for life that could not be matched. She loved her family and friends deeply, and possessed the unique quality of making everyone feel welcome and special. Betty was the life of the party, the soft shoulder to cry on and the voice of reason that we all needed from time to time. She adored her work family at H&R Block, where she spent her entire career.
Betty will be deeply missed by her husband, William Bruce Read, her three children, Christeen, Eric and Michelle and her 5 grandchildren, Jessica, Kailey, Cam, Cole and Brayden. Betty was the oldest of 5 children. Predeceased by her mother, Shirley Eileen Latendresse and survived by her siblings Brenda, Allan, David and Donna. All those who loved her will miss her irreplaceable spirit forever.
