It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Joseph Padfield, 83 on February 17, 2024 after a long and courageous battle with cancer and other health issues.

Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Margaret Padfield (nee McNally).  He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Nancy; and by his children Micheal (Mandy), and Cheryl (Steve).  Papa to his grandchildren Emma, Brandon, and Colton.  He is survived by his sister Joan (Bill VanDijk, and his brother Gerry (Margie); and brother-in-law to Gail, John, Charles, Kip, Bill, Sarah, Dick, Wayne; and uncle to many nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by Sandra, and Marion.

After retiring from a career at Ontario Hydro, he spent much of his time at his cottage on Georgian Bay.  Joe was a quiet, gentle, and stoic man.  He was the happiest building and repairing things or by “puttering” as he called it.  He always enjoyed the longtime friendships he created, and loved watching his children and grandchildren enjoying the waters of the Bay as he did.  In recent years, he and Nancy headed South to enjoy their Winters in Florida.

His family wish to thank Dr. Mills, Dr. Yu, and Dr. Kotchetkov for the wonderful and compassionate care that they gave Joe.

Cremation has taken place at Joe’s request, and the family will gather at St. Mary’s Cemetery for an interment in the Spring.

Donations can be made in Joe’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
