Peter Novis passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on February 14, 2024, at the age of 63. Born in Scarborough, Peter was the son of the late Vasilis and Maria Novis.
Beloved husband of Julie (Morningstar) for over 41 years, loving dad to Melissa (Adam) Lally and Danny (Kirstin) Novis. Cherished Dedo of Parker, Summer, Vivianne, Georgia, and Zachary. Dear brother of Steve (Collette) and Gary. Adored son-in-law to Sharon and the late Bruce Morningstar, and dear brother-in-law to Derek (Michele), Mark (Kelly), and Mike (Doreen) Morningstar. Peter will also be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Peter’s easy going and kind spirit touched the lives of everyone around him including his many close friends and the kids he coached in hockey. Peter always said he was a simple guy, he loved golfing, fishing, hockey and good food; what brought Peter the most joy was spending time with Julie, his kids and his five loving grandchildren.
Visitations will be held at Adams Funeral Home (445 St. Vincent Street, Barrie) on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, from 6-9pm and 11am until the time of the Funeral Service in the chapel at 12pm on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. Those wishing to attend the burial are invited immediately following the service to Innisvale Cemetery (7551 5th Side Road, Innisfil) with a reception to follow back at Adams Funeral Home.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the palliative team at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Janelle at Bayshore and the staff at the Chatham-Kent Hospice.
