Passed away peacefully in his home with family by his side at the age of 84. Sydney leaves behind his loving wife Sylvia Nobbin (née Swerhun). Loving father of Lisa Belsky (née Nobbin) and James (Denise) Nobbin, cherished grandfather of Lindsay and Jaimie Belsky, Joshua and Jessica Nobbin. He will also be missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Sydney is predeceased by his parents Sidney and Ina (née Hurlbut) Nobbin and sisters Diana Mackie and Patricia Weinstock. He will never be forgotten. Sydney had been employed at General Motors in Oshawa until his retirement when he moved to Barrie. He was also active in the Scouting movement which he enjoyed for many years. Arrangements are entrusted to Steckley – Gooderham Funeral home, 30 Worsley Street – Barrie. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service and interment will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations directed to Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated by Sydney’s family.
