NEWMAN, Patricia Rose

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Rose Newman, age 72, on June 29, 2023 at Barrie’s Royal Victoria Hospital. Loved by her life partner and buddy for life, John Richards. Adored by her four children, Paula Goguen, Teresa Goguen, Christine Goguen and Adam Middlebrook, and seven grandchildren; Amy Goguen, Dustin Goguen, Tianna Goguen, Elicia Goguen, Dylan Goguen, Taia Goguen and Abigail Middlebrook.

Patricia was a beloved sister to her four siblings and a devout aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Patricia also welcomed in so many into her family including her honorary daughter Heather Brown. She never missed an opportunity to help people (or pets) in need, and touched so many lives throughout the course of her own. Born in Toronto, Patricia (Patty) moved to Barrie at a young age with her parents, as her father was a member of the military stationed at Base Borden. Growing up, her life came with challenges, yet her will to move forward not only for herself, but for her children made her strive for success. After years of working as a PSW at Barrie’s Simcoe Terrace, Patty decided it was time to start her own business in her late 50’s, and that brought the birth of Dirt Busters Cleaning Services.

Patty lived life to the fullest, her tenacity (and at times shear feistiness) always had her open to exploring and trying new things. Her favourite place to be was in nature, under the sun, spending time with those she loved the most. As her family, we hope she’s found her eternal paradise, breathing in the fresh air, with her feet kicked up on a beach somewhere hot and sunny and an umbrella by her side - we love you mom ❤️
