Sandra peacefully passed away in her family’s home with pets and family in her presence. “Nana” had a sharp sense of humour, a warm heart and a generous spirit, often feeding, sheltering neighbourhood children that her son and daughter would invite home.
She was an active member of the Innisfil Eastern Star when she resided in Stroud and spent her later years enjoying the condominium life in Barrie.
A woman of many contradictions, she could swear like a sailor, yet enjoyed having her hair done weekly at Suzette’s hair salon for most of her adult life. In her senior years she wasn’t shy to try any activity that the great grandchildren were enjoying. This included cycling, hula hooping, board games, swimming, colouring. She fought and overcame many health challenges with a fierce resilience intertwined with a sense of grace and dignity.
Family was always her priority and she will be missed by Randy, Patricia, Cheryl (Peter), Iain, Allana, Sarah (Ian), Rachel, Tanya, Michael, Jada, Aaliyah, Noah and Grace.
She will finally rest with her beloved Husband, Norman Neely, at St Paul’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Barrie.
A celebration of life will be organized for next year when the family can all be together.
Sandra could not imagine any human being going to sleep hungry. Donations to any local food bank would be appreciated.
