Mary Elizabeth Morrison, 55, of Barrie, died March 21, 2016, at Hospice Simcoe after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Allen Morrison of Barrie. She was born October 21, 1960, in Lindsay, Ontario, she was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (McCann) Cotter.
Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and friends who cherished her kind spirit and incredible sense of humour.
She is survived by her husband Allen Morrison of Barrie; three children, Sarah (Alex) Clendinning of Waterdown, Daniel Morrison of Barrie and Michael Morrison of Barrie; her mother Elizabeth Cotter of Belleville; a brother Joseph Cotter of Belleville; and three sisters, Patricia (Dave) Jones of Belleville, Barbara (Roger) Chartrand of Belleville and Katherine Pearce of Belleville; Mary also leaves behind in-laws, Ian and Marjorie Morrison of Barrie, Paul Morrison of Mississauga and Dan (Theresa) Morrison of Ottawa as well as numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. Predeceased by her father, Charles Cotter.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church (13 Baldwin Lane, Barrie) on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 11:00AM. Interment St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Barrie. Words cannot express our appreciation to the staff and volunteers at Hospice Simcoe for the special way in which they cared for Mary and our family.
