MOORE, Duncan Willis

(May 19, 1925 – April 23, 2016) - Passed away at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie on Saturday April 23rd 2016.  Duncan Willis Moore, in his 91st year, is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Jacqueline (Jackie) (nee Merrett).  He was the loving father of Wesley Moore and Susan Price, Waterloo; David and Carolyn Moore, Guelph; and Audrey and David Wonnacott, London.  Loving grandfather of Laura, Katie and Rachel; Brendan, Donovan, and Scott; Allana, Emily and Caden.  Duncan is the loving uncle of numerous nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his brother  Percival (Gale) Moore,  and also his sisters Bonneah (Forbes) and Marilyn Moore.   Duncan was born to Harold Moore and Inez Brown in St. Anns Ontario.  The family moved to Dalston where Duncan was raised on a family farm that he worked until 1982.  Duncan and Jackie were long-time school bus drivers in the Oro area for 20 years.  Duncan had a keen interest in heritage farm antiques and gas engines and he was a member of the Georgian Bay Steam and Antique Club who presented his collection at local shows.  Active in Barrie Parkview Seniors Center activities and the Westminister Presbyterian Church, Duncan will be remembered by his family and friends for his strength, determination, dry wit, love of playing the fiddle and love of dancing with Jackie.  Friends will be received at ADAMS FUNERAL HOME 445 St. Vincent St., Barrie on Saturday April 30, 2016 from 11 a.m. until time of service in the chapel at 1 o’clock.
