The family of our beloved David “Dean” McKitterick of Orillia, is saddened to announce his passing on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at the age of 73 years.

He will be lovingly remembered as Uncle Dean by is sister/brother in law Dawn and Jim Jay. Nieces: Heather (Chris, Alex, Arianna, Austin, Aidan) Henry, Melanie (Hafiz, Adam, Zain Janmohamed) Jay, Nephew: Stephen (Alicia, Zianne, Taylor & Alicia) Jay as well as numerous relatives, friends and neighbours.

He was predeceased by his parents: Walter and Mary McKitterick.

Dean had a long career in various roles, including Brinks, working retail sales at Home Depot in the city and ultimately locally in Orillia for many, many years. He will always be remembered as the fun, goofy Uncle, always dressing up to scare us and was never apposed to sit at the “kids” table. Dean also had a gentle, caring side and was an animal lover first and fore most, especially dogs. His positive outlook, generous spirit, and kind heart left an impression wherever he went. Dean was overly passionate about being organized and loved his label maker! Dean loved music and movies, his home audio collection is impressive. He loved to volunteer and support charities like Compassion Canada. Dean was very grounded in his unwavering faith in God, and his faith only grew stronger in his final years of life, attending Guardian Angels Church.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday March 17, 2024 from 1:00-3:00pm at Adams Funeral Home, 445 St Vincent St. Barrie, ON.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be in make in Dean’s name to the Ontario SPCA Orillia Animal Centre, 467 West St. N. Orillia, https://ontariospca.ca/orillia.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the Home Care Nurses, Kozy at Home and Dr. Anand, your caring support will always be remembered.
