George Frederick Mckay, of Innisfil, Ontario, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his wife, daughter and devoted dog, Bailey, on January 18, 2024, after a 5-month struggle with lung cancer. He was Born May 21, 1953, in Barrie, ON to John & Lillian Mckay.

Fondly known as Grampa and Uncle George to many, he was always the life of the party, had a wicked sense of humor who loved to fire off puns. He was a talented drummer with a passion for music, especially the Beatles’. Another pastime was watching hockey, and cheering on his one & only team, The Toronto Maple Leafs. George loved his work as owner operator of Mckay's Property management, where his skills and attention to detail shined in excavation and grading. Teaching his grandson's how to operate all his machines and them working alongside him on jobs, was pure joy.

Aside from his love of hockey & music, he was dedicated to helping others. Always the first one to offer a hand to family, friends and neighbours. George had a compassionate heart for animals, his devotion to his dog, bailey was beyond heartwarming & helping his daughter with her many foster cats and dogs.

George is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Pauline (Tucker), daughter and son-in-law, Sharin and Keith McDaid. Forever cherished and remembered by his 4 grandsons, Keanan, Liam, Seamus, Rory.
