It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Audrey McGibbon on Feb 9, 2018 in her 91st year. She has been reunited with her love, the late Finlay McGibbon. Cherished mother of Barb (late Bill), Don (Jeanne), Ken (Cheryl), Jack, Tanya (Brett) and Dan. She shared her love of laughter with her grandchildren, Christa, Matt, Alyssa, Jonathon, Travis, Ashley, Brandon and Sarah and her spirit is carried on by her 11 great-grandchildren. Survived by her sister Norma Gibbins and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son Billy, infant daughter Patricia and daughter-in-law Keitha. Born in Montreal in 1927, Audrey married the love of her life, "Mac", on May 12, 1945. In a little house in Barrie they raised their family of 7 and their 93 foster children. Her family is going to miss her spirited nature, her wonderful laugh and her sharp wit. Guests will be received at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Friday February 16, from 3pm until the time we celebrate her life in the chapel at 4pm. A reception will follow. If desired, donations in Audrey’s memory may be made to the RVH Foundation or a charity of your choice and are greatly appreciated.
