Age 82, passed away peacefully May 6th 2021 with her husband Al Tapp by her side.

She was born August 23rd 1938 in Barrie Ontario to Vernon and Elsie Jennett. She had a great attachment to her home community of Thornton Ontario.  She truly loved the home she lived in for the past 49 years. Its pool and grounds saw many events and gatherings that brought her great joy.  Being there, especially with family, provided her both with both peace and happiness.

Growing up in Thornton, Joan developed a fabric of friends in the local area.  She seemingly had a story or some personal connection to almost everyone in this small village. She was the keeper of the history of Thornton for her family and would often tell stories of the way the town was and how it had changed over her lifetime.  She took pride in being part of this intimate rural community. Anyone who knew Joan would attest that she loved her three boys.  She held great pride in the their accomplishments, their wives and her amazing grandchildren.

She will be missed by all. Joan is survived by her husband Albert Tapp, her sister  Donna (Douglas) MacDonald, her three sons; Mike( Heather), Patrick (Becky) and Dennis (Jennifer), and grandchildren Zachary, Siobhan, Liam, Sophia and Jake, and her stepchildren Michael( Julie) and Murry(Janet). Joan is predeceased by her husband John and her sister Verna( Dan).

Due to the restrictions imposed by COVID19 a memorial will be deferred to the summer of 2021. Hopefully by that time we will be able to gather and celebrate the life of Joan together. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Salvation Army.
