McELROY, Christopher Francis ('Chris')

(June 6, 1969 –  November 6, 2017) - It is with great sadness and deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Christopher Francis McElroy ( “Chris”) , a beloved son, brother, husband, step-father and friend who died on Monday, November 6, 2017 at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie at the too young age of 48. Chris will be forever missed by his wife of 8 years Lisa, his step-children Christian, Sydney and Samantha to whom he was a loving, devoted and proud dad, his mother- in- law Sharon, his mother Carol and his late father Jerry, his brother Mark (Tess), his uncle Ken ( Jo-Anne), his cousin Hannah and his many friends. Known within the Barrie community and beyond as “Big Chris”, his generosity of spirit and big heart supported many community activities, organizations and charities in the County of Simcoe. He was larger than life embracing every moment to its fullest. He will be sadly missed by all. Friends may call at ADAMS FUNERAL HOME (445 St. Vincent Street, Barrie ) on Monday, November 13, from 11a.m. to 1p.m. where the funeral service will be held in the Chapel at 1 o’clock p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Diabetes Canada or a charity of your choice in Chris’ memory would be greatly appreciated by the family.
