Absent from the body, present with the Lord. Cara Lorraine Matts born December 6, 1918, passed peacefully at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie on December 28, 2019.
Leaving a beautiful legacy after 101 years of love for her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and her large extended family. An accomplished pianist from a young age, Lorraine spent her entire life using her gifts and talents to serve the Lord until only three weeks before her passing.
Youngest of 7 children. Pre-deceased by her beloved parents Marion Luella McCaul and William “Eddie” Edward McCaul, and her beloved siblings Mary Rankin (Rusty), William McCaul (Eva), George McCaul (Dorothy – “Dot”), Ross McCaul (Isabel), Clayton McCaul (Agnes) and Jack McCaul. She will be deeply missed by her children Lynda Storey (Brian – deceased), Carolyn Davies (Allan) and her grandchildren Cindy Hood (Phil), Paul Harfield (Tanya), Cathy Hood (Paul), Mark Harfield, Ron Bowyer (Jenn), and Becky Melo (Jonny). Great grandmother to 14, great great grandmother to 3. She loved well and was well loved! She will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation will be held at ADAMS FUNERAL HOME (445 Vincent Street, Barrie) ON Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Celebration of life to be held at EMMANUEL BAPTIST CHURCH (374 Salem Road, Barrie) on Monday, January 6 2020 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Freedom Village Canada or Emmanuel Baptist Church, Barrie.
