November 25, 1948 – November 3, 2023
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of John Stanley (Stan) Martin of Barrie on November 3, at the age of 74.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Joan; sons Nicholas (Kelly Park) and Matthew (Ashleigh Kannenberg) grandchildren Teddy, Jason, Nathan, Audrey and Nolan. Stan is survived by his sisters Joan Stevens (Charlie) and Joy Durand (Bill). He is predeceased by his parents Emily Louise Martin and John Martin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Stan’s name to Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation of Canada or Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Tom Mills, the staff at Hospice Simcoe and the palliative team of PSWs and nurses who cared for Stan at home.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 4, 2024 at 1 pm at the Martin family home, 32 Trillium Crescent, Barrie, Ontario with a reception and a few snacks to follow. And yes, there will be cake!
