Passed peacefully on May 13th, 2021 at the Coleman Care Centre, Barrie -- just two weeks ahead of his 100th birthday. Predeceased by Jean, his beloved wife of 67 years (2012). Loving father of Randy MacGibbon and of Debbie Hope (Wayne), and father-in-law to Geraldine MacGibbon. Cherished grandfather of Deanna McConnell (John), Sheri Ash (Robert), Andrew Hope (Kristin), Aaron Hope (Melena), Bethany Touchette (Nick), and great grandfather of Taylor, Asha, William, Macaila, Madelaine, Mallory, Nathan, Julia, Claire, Elliott, Lewis, Eleanor, and Arthur. Survived by his brother Sandy McGibbon (Earla), predeceased by his parents, Alex and Hazel McGibbon, by his brother Bob (the late Joyce), and sister Gwen Schock. Will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
Ralph was a WWII Veteran, having served on the Hastings Prince Edward Regimen. He will always be fondly remembered for his love of fishing, fiddling, and woodworking.
Private family arrangements have been entrusted to the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie, with interment taking place at Barrie Union Cemetery. If desired, donations in Ralph’s memory may be directed to the Westminster Presbyterian Church and are greatly appreciated by the family.
