Passed away peacefully on October 5, 2021 at the age of 82 cradled in the arms of her loving husband, Harold, of 62 years, with her family nearby. She was predeceased by her eldest daughter, Linda Lippett. Margaret is survived by five of her six children, Katherine Lippett-Robson (Mark Robson) of Calgary, Barbara Lippett (Peter Clark) of Ottawa, Michael Lippett (Cheryl Spence-Lippett) of Ottawa, Pamela Kester (Mark) of Burlington, and Mark Lippett of Hamilton. She leaves behind nine grandchildren: Brandon Robson, Kelsey Bishop (Alex), Madison Robson; Siobhan and Desmond Clark; Kevin and Emily Lippett; and Courtney and Nicolas Kester, and many nieces and nephews. She also is survived by her youngest brother, Gordon Wood, of Centralia, Ontario. Margaret was born in Malartic, Quebec, on July 12, 1939, the eldest of five children born to Grant and Rita Wood (predeceased). She was raised on their family farm in Englehart, Ontario. Margaret was a true "Northern Ontario Girl," strong, hard-working, independent, resilient, adaptable and with a heart of gold. As a dedicated, supportive Military wife for 31 years, she relied on all of these qualities especially while raising their six children, frequently on her own for extended periods of time when Harold was called to duty, and during seven postings involving full house relocations. She was generous, kind and made new friends quickly and easily. She loved to spend an evening attending a Mess social function or playing cards with good friends. But above all she loved to vacation with family members and to spend many all-night talk sessions with her sister, Bernice (predeceased). Margaret was the heart of our family and the spirit of every holiday season. She tirelessly decorated, cooked and baked for large family celebrations held throughout the years. She openend her home to family and friends alike - all were welcome and warmly received. She will be dearly missed - no more so than during the holiday seasons. Thank you to the Staff of Grove Park Home, Barrie, Ontario for their care of Margaret during the past few years of her life and especially to the nurses and personal care workers for their exceptional and loving care during "Maggie's" final days with us. A final memorial service will be held in the Spring when all the family can be gathered and Margaret will be laid to rest beside her beloved daughter, Linda, in Forest Lawn Cemetery in London, Ontario. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Margaret are asked to consider Grove Park Home, Barrie, Ontario, a non-profit organization, where your gift will be appreciated and without doubt will be effectively used to support the Staff and residents of Grove.
