Audrey left her earthly life to be forever reunited with her Lord and precious family and friends on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie, Ont.

Audrey was born in Selkirk, Manitoba, the eldest of six girls. She was raised on a farm so knew hard work and strong ethics which she displayed throughout her life. She moved to Kapuskasing, Ont. as a young woman where she met and married John Charlebois. Together they raised four children: Lynda (Guy) Villeneuve, Sandra (Ron) Desrosiers, Normalyn Gagnon and Tim (Kariann) Charlebois. After John died in 1974, Audrey returned to Winnipeg, Manitoba to be near her mother and sisters. There she met and married Henry Leis and became stepmom to Sharyl (Dennis) Lacroix and Doug (Lisa) Leis. Audrey and Henry had many similar interests, which was mostly about the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, gardening, cross country skiing and enjoying their cottage was their passion.

When Henry died in 2010, Audrey decided to move to Barrie, where she would be in close proximity to 3 of her children and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. In the spring of 2011 Audrey moved into Grove Park, Mulberry Lane Retirement, where she found new friends and “Family”. She was very happy and comfortable at Grove Park, which was due in part to the wonderful people that work there.

Unfortunately, she took sick in Sept and after 3 weeks in hospital she was transferred to Hospice Simcoe where she remained until her death.

The family would like to extend our deepest thanks to all Hospice Simcoe staff and volunteers, for the extraordinary care she received, as well as meeting our needs. You are all earth angels and we will be forever grateful.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Hospice Simcoe.
