Nigel “George” Kitchener passed away peacefully at the age of 81 years old at RVH, Barrie after courageously battling a lengthy illness.

Nigel was born in Middlesex, England on March 1, 1943.

Nigel is survived by his loving wife of 54 years of marriage Seija (nee Tikkanen), his two daughters Tanya (MacDonald) and Sylvia (Kitchener-Phillips), sons-in-law John and Gary, grandson Dallas and fur grand babies Winston, Isaac and Benjamin.

Employed at DeHavilland (Boeing) Aircraft for over 40 years and was famously known as the “Twin Otter (airplane) Expert”.

Nigel coached hockey for many years and loved the sport of hockey his entire life.   A WWI and WWII enthusiast (a descendant of Field Marshall Lord Kitchener).

His sense of humour and willingness to always help others will be missed greatly by all those who knew him.

A celebration of life will follow to celebrate a life well lived and loved.
