It is with much love and sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Walter King. Tom, 85, passed away peacefully on November 10th, 2022 at Hospice Simcoe after a short battle with cancer.
Much loved husband of 59 years to Marilyn King (nee Caldwell). Lovingly remembered by daughter Cindy Peach (Greg) and their son Adam. Cherished Papa to granddaughters Breanna (Andrew) and Brittany (Blake) King, and missed by daughter-in-law, Linda King of Kitchener. He is predeceased by his son, David King. Also survived by Carol Caldwell (late Garry) of Timmins. Loved uncle of Kevin (Kate) of Cobourg and Heather Timm (Dave) of Toronto, and their families.
After a successful career in sign making, Tom’s retirement years were spent regaling stories of the past on his front porch ‘office’ with his family, friends, and neighbours. He looked forward to everyday, waving and chatting with all who strolled by. He will be especially missed by his four-legged friends who always looked forward to daily pats and doggy treats.
During Tom’s recent hospice stay, many of these amazing people came to visit which was an absolute gift for both Tom and his family.
Tom had a lifelong passion following the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays. He had a love of the outdoors that would often see him on camping trips to Rain Lake in Algonquin Park.
A special thank-you to Hospice Simcoe for receiving us with open arms upon arrival and providing us with unending care and support.
In keeping with Tom’s wishes, a private cremation has taken place
and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
