KERR, Yvonne P.

Passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 11, 2016. Yvonne was predeceased by her husband Peter Kerr, daughter Susan Iannucci and son-in-law Amilcare Iannucci. She was the much loved mother of Louise Kee and husband Chuck Pfarrer, Tony Kerr and wife Cathy, and Peter Kee. She will be much missed by brother Van Robson and wife Pat, as well as grandchildren Christine, Anna, Robert, Matthew, Stephen, Emily and Sean. Yvonne had a lifelong passion for reading and literature. She attended Victoria College at the University of Toronto, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree and later with a Master’s Degree in English Language and Literature. She then went on to have a career as a professor of English and Can Lit at Ryerson University, where she coaxed along the creative skills of her students for many years. In her free time she enjoyed spending time and entertaining family at her summer cottage which she built with her husband Peter in northern Ontario. A Celebration of Yvonne’s life will be held at ADAMS FUNERAL HOME 445 St Vincent Street, Barrie (www.adamsfuneralhome.ca) on Thursday June 16th, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
