September 25, 1940 - March 13, 2024

Our dear husband, father, grandfather, and friend left this world for his new life with our Lord in the early morning on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.

Bob, in his 84th year, was a wonderful husband to Linda (nee Kovach) for over 58 years; a devoted father to Bob (Eduarda), Michelle, and Dan (Lisa); and a doting ‘Papa’ to Matthew, Caroline, Connor, and Ben.

He was a self-made man, putting himself through school and then growing his career to provide for his family. Bob travelled to many beautiful places with Linda and his children, and nurtured interests like cars, boating, and waterskiing in his younger years; then carpentry and winemaking in later life. He was a gifted artist, and generously shared his sketches of family farmhouses and other scenery with family and friends. But it was his family that truly was his pride and joy. Hours coaching and cheering on his children and grandchildren’s activities and achievements were only eclipsed by so many quiet moments when he could be counted on to just be there when his family needed him.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, Hazel and Glenn. He leaves behind his brother Don (Pat deceased), brothers John deceased (Cecile), and Ken deceased (Ann deceased), and sisters Joyce Breadman (Harry deceased), and Patricia Drake deceased (Reg deceased). He was much loved by Linda’s family William and Olga Kovach (both deceased), June and John Szeman (both deceased), Bill Kovach (Jean), Susan Kovach deceased, Carl Kovach (Shelley). He was much loved by many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Rest in peace.

As a gesture of sympathy, donations in Bob’s memory would be appreciated to Canadian Food for Children or a charity of your choice.

Visitation  will be held on Friday, March 15th, 2024 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Adams Funeral Home (445 St. Vincent Street, Barrie). Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 16, 2024, 12:00pm immediately followed by reception at St. John Vianney Parish (13 Baldwin Lane, Barrie). Interment will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery (208 Sunnidale Road, Barrie) following the reception.
