Ed joined his beloved wife Monica (1999) from his home on February 12, 2017. The last of his family, he was predeceased by his parents and 10 siblings. Lovingly remembered by his daughters Maureen (Allan) of Barrie and Pam (Murray) of Brockville. Most special Poppa to David of Cornwall and Ashley (Sam) of Barrie. Step-Poppa to Matt (Abby) of Fernie, BC, Michael (Stephanie) of Halifax, NS and Jamie of Barrie. Great-Poppa to Zander, Stephen and Jack. Ed is also survived by his favorite Sister-in-Law Louise Hitchinson. Many nieces and nephews will miss hearing his stories of the family. Ed was a Life Member and MSM Recipient of The Royal Canadian Legion Br. 370 Iroquois. He was also a Past Deputy Marshall of The United Irish Society of Montreal.
As Per Ed’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 147 (410 St. Vincent Street, Barrie) on Sunday, March 5, 2017 from 1-4 p.m. Donations can be made to The Royal Canadian Legion Charitable Foundation or to The Heart & Stroke Foundation.
