Peacefully passed at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on Sunday, January 28th, 2024, at the age of 72 years. Predeceased by her late husband Victor Hayward (2011). Loving partner of Dale Evans. Beloved mother of Chris (Jenn) Hayward and Sean (Michelle) Hayward. Proud grandmother of Zakery, Sienna, Jakob, Lukas and Nicholas. Dear sister of Willard Fisher and the late Betty Taylor. Will be missed by extended family members and dear friends.
Darlene enjoyed being part of the community in Ivy. She was always there to help at euchre tournaments, Bluegrass Day and Ivy Days. Darlene loved spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren, hockey and baseball games, outings, and special dinners.
Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Sunday, February 4th, 2024, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Visitation will continue Monday, February 5th, 2024, from 12 pm until the time of Service in the Chapel at 1 pm. Reception to follow inside the lower Lounge. In keeping with Darlene’s wishes cremation has taken place. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association, the Ivy Presbyterian Church, or the Ivy Orange Hall #450 (e-transfer to [email protected]) and are greatly appreciated by the family.
