Louise H

1925 - 2021

Louise passed away in her 96th year at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie on Saturday, June 12, 2021, after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Howard and is survived by her children Laurie (John), Hugh (Joanna), and David (Karen), her grandchildren Cameron, Elizabeth, Victoria, Emma, Fraser, Claire, and Olivia and her brother Edwin Forman. She was also predeceased by her parents and sisters Elizabeth (Bette) and Mary. Louise was born in 1925 into a rural community on the east side of Lake Simcoe, the daughter of Pearl (Gilmour) Forman and Roy Forman, before moving to Orillia as a child. After graduating from high school Louise trained as a legal secretary and worked in a law firm. Louise and Howard married in 1954 and settled in Barrie, living across the road from Sunnidale Park for more than 60 years. She was a wonderful mother, supporting us through our education and encouraging a love of music and an interest in world affairs. Louise was a long-time member of Collier Street United Church, where she volunteered for countless hours and later worked as church secretary. In her later years she lived at Roberta Place Retirement Lodge where she made many new friends. We will deeply miss Louise’s kindness and her deep love for her family. A family service will be held on Wednesday June 16 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Louise’s memory may be made to the Collier Street United Church outreach program (https://collierunited.ca/Donate). Online condolences can be left at www.steckleygooderham.com.
